11. Sale or Rental of Personal Information

MindSignal does not currently sell or rent its waitlist, names, email addresses, or form submissions to unrelated businesses for monetary payment.

MindSignal does not currently use personal information from the website for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Some state privacy laws use broad definitions of “sale” or “sharing” that may include certain advertising technologies even where no money is exchanged.

If MindSignal later adopts advertising or tracking practices that legally qualify as selling or sharing personal information, this Privacy Policy and the website’s privacy controls will be updated as required.

12. YouTube and Video Content

The website may display, embed, or link to videos hosted on YouTube or another video platform.

When you load, view, or interact with a third-party video:

  • The video platform may collect technical or usage information

Opening or using an external link is at your discretion. Review the third party’s privacy policy before submitting personal information.

14. Information Related to Anxiety or Mental Health

The website may include educational content, personal reflections, resources, and general information related to anxiety.

The website is not intended to create a provider-patient, therapist-client, counselor-client, or other professional-care relationship.

  • Medication details

  • Treatment plans

  • Information about self-harm

  • Private records belonging to another person

MindSignal cannot provide individualized medical or mental-health advice through the website.

15. HIPAA

The public MindSignal website is not presented as a healthcare provider, health plan, healthcare clearinghouse, therapist, counselor, or medical practice.

Information voluntarily submitted directly to MindSignal through the public website, waitlist, Google Form, or general email should not be assumed to be protected health information under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, commonly known as HIPAA.

Whether HIPAA applies depends on the organization’s role, relationships, services, contracts, and actual data practices. A privacy policy or disclaimer alone does not determine HIPAA status.

Before the MindSignal application launches or enters relationships involving healthcare providers, insurers, medical systems, or protected health information, MindSignal will need a separate legal and technical review.

16. Data Security

MindSignal takes reasonable steps intended to protect the personal information under its control.

The current website relies on third-party providers, including Wix and Google services, to host the website and process certain submissions. Those providers maintain their own security systems and privacy practices.

Because the MindSignal application is still in development, its final security architecture, technologies, processes, and service providers have not yet been determined.

Before the application launches or begins collecting sensitive user information, this Privacy Policy will be reviewed and updated to describe the security and data-handling practices actually in use.

MindSignal does not currently claim that:

  • All information is encrypted in every circumstance

  • The website or application is HIPAA compliant

  • Information is completely anonymous

  • Information cannot be accessed by unauthorized persons

  • Any electronic system is completely secure

No method of electronic transmission, website operation, email communication, or data storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

17. Data-Breach Response

If MindSignal becomes aware of a security incident affecting personal information, we will evaluate the incident and take steps that we consider reasonable and appropriate under the circumstances.

Those steps may include:

  • Investigating the incident

  • Limiting further unauthorized access

  • Contacting relevant service providers

  • Preserving relevant records

  • Consulting legal or technical professionals

  • Notifying affected individuals or authorities when required by law

18. Data Retention

We may retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Maintain the waitlist

  • Provide requested resources

  • Communicate with subscribers

  • Respond to inquiries

  • Maintain consent and unsubscribe records

  • Maintain ordinary business records

  • Resolve disputes

  • Prevent abuse or fraud

  • Comply with legal obligations

  • Enforce our agreements

  • Protect legal rights

We may delete, anonymize, or aggregate information when it is no longer reasonably needed.

Certain records may be retained after a deletion request when required by law or reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, recordkeeping, dispute resolution, or enforcement purposes.

19. Your Choices and Requests

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may be able to ask us to:

  • Confirm whether we maintain personal information about you

  • Provide access to certain personal information

  • Correct inaccurate information

  • Delete certain information

  • Remove you from the waitlist

  • Stop promotional email communications

  • Withdraw consent where processing depends on consent

  • Explain categories of information collected or disclosed

To make a request, contact:

mindsignalapp@gmail.com

Use the subject line:

Privacy Request

Please include enough information for us to understand and locate your request.

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests. We may deny or limit a request where permitted by law, including where we cannot verify the requester or where retaining information is legally required.

20. State Privacy Rights

Residents of certain U.S. states may have specific rights under applicable state privacy laws.

MindSignal is an early-stage business and may not currently meet the applicability thresholds of every comprehensive state privacy law.

Nevertheless, we intend to consider legitimate requests relating to access, correction, deletion, or marketing preferences when reasonably possible and legally appropriate.

If MindSignal’s size, activities, revenue, data volume, advertising practices, or services change, this section may be updated.

21. International Visitors

MindSignal is based in the United States.

If you visit the website from another country, information may be processed or stored in the United States or in other locations where our service providers operate.

Data-protection laws in those locations may differ from the laws of your country.

The website is currently intended primarily for a United States audience. If MindSignal later intentionally offers the app or services in other countries, this Privacy Policy and related consent procedures may be revised.

22. Children’s Privacy

The website is not directed to children under the age of 18.

MindSignal does not knowingly request or collect personal information from children under 18 through the public website.

If you believe that a child under 18 has submitted personal information, contact:

mindsignalapp@gmail.com

We will review the request and take appropriate steps, including deletion where required.

Before the MindSignal application launches, MindSignal will determine the appropriate age requirements for app users and whether parental or guardian permission will be required.

23. Automated Processing and Artificial Intelligence

The current public website does not use waitlist or resource-request information to make automated medical, insurance, employment, housing, credit, educational, or legal decisions about visitors.

The MindSignal application is still in development.

Before MindSignal introduces artificial intelligence, automated analysis, personalization, prediction, pattern recognition, or similar features, this Privacy Policy will need to be updated to explain, as applicable:

  • The types of information used

  • The purpose of the processing

  • The general nature of the output

  • The service providers involved

  • Whether information is used to train any system

  • How information is stored

  • How long information is retained

  • How users can access or delete information

  • Important limitations of automated output

No statement in this Privacy Policy should be interpreted as confirming that a particular future app feature or security method has been completed or implemented.

24. Emergency and Crisis Communications

MindSignal does not continuously monitor its website forms, email accounts, waitlist, or social-media messages.

Do not use the website, waitlist, contact form, or email to request emergency assistance or crisis intervention.

Messages may not be reviewed immediately.

If you or another person may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis resource.

25. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as:

  • The website changes

  • The MindSignal application develops

  • New features or service providers are introduced

  • Our data practices change

  • Legal or regulatory requirements change

When we update the policy, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the beginning of the document.

If a change materially affects how previously collected personal information is used, we may provide additional notice or request consent when required.

Simply changing a privacy policy may not be sufficient for certain material changes involving previously collected information. The FTC advises app developers to obtain affirmative permission when materially changing established privacy practices.
